Measuring Radon Gas

There are several ways to measure Radon Gas. We prefer the CRM or constant radon monitor. This is a calibrated test that qualifies for real estate transaction documentation.

Short term tests include charcoal diffusion, electret and scintillation tests. These are good tests to get an initial idea, but a more accurate test will be needed to confirm in most cases.

Long term testing is considered the best and most accurate method. Usually a charcoal diffusion puck is used and the test lasts from 30 – 90 days. In most cases this abount of time is just not available, but retesting with this method is quite good.
